Route & General Observations

Toured up to tree line on Tincan to check on surface conditions and try to find some corn skiing.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Partly sunny in the morning with clouds moving in in the afternoon. Temperatures were in the mid 30s F at the road when we started and mid 40s F when we left around 2pm.

Snow surface

There was a 3-4" thick supportable crust on the west aspect of Tincan up to treeline. At our high point around 2200' the crust was starting to feel more breakable on north aspects. We skied down around 130p with a nice thin layer of corn over a supportable crust. Below 1200' the crust started to get less supportable on our way down.

Snowpack

We dug a pit on a SE aspect planning to do a melt water percolation test, but I forgot the fruit punch mix to die our water!
