Route & General Observations

Standard uptrack on sunburst. Hardened rain/meltfreeze crust to near where the ridge line is usually accessed. Hand pit on west slightly south revealed 1-2 inch crust on top of cold loose fist snow on top of 3-5 inch of crust. Underneath that crust was more fist loose snow. once at Ridgeline the crust became most breakable providing easing travel. The final hump appeared to be fairly dense windslab. No shooting cracks or settlements where observed. Once on top we skied down a north chute. Skiing was on excellent powder snow. The north westerly sides that typically get loaded appeared to have avalanched with the storm cycle. There were large crowns mostly covered with new snow. Lots of debris. Lots of storm slides on the north side coming out on nice frozen crust.
