Route & General Observations

Skier trigger massive avalanche on south side of sunburst back on the ridge. Ripped out to the ground. No one was caught or hurt. The skier barely escaped by traversing the slope to safety.

Very lucky. What made it so dangerous was the avalanche was not triggered until the skier was in the middle of the slope. The crown was near the ridge and it ripped out to the ground.  Very very scary. The skier was lucky to have escaped.
