Route & General Observations

Standard up-track from the lot.
Dug pit at 2500′, W face at 290°, 285 cm total snow depth, ECTP18 20 cm down Q1 (1mm facet at propagation depth), ECTP29 40 cm down Q2 (<1mm facets).

Snow balling began an hour after the sun hit the SW face.

Weather

New snow from the storm on 3/1. Light snow in the morning at road level with fog up to 2,200'. Stratus broke around 12:30

Snow surface

2-3 mm surface hoar. The surface hoar was at all elevations but had larger crystals below 2000' where the fog was more prevalent.  Above 2500' the crystals were probably 1-2mm. 

Snowpack

Fist to 8cm, 15cm 4 finger, 35cm 1 finger.
