Route & General Observations

Ascended to 3300′. Snow quality increased with elevation. No signs of instabilities noted. 1 test put dug @ 3300′.

Weather

Broken sky, T: -4.0 degrees C, calm winds.

Snow surface

Heavy wet snow transitioning to dry, loose snow with elevation. No wind effect noted.

Snowpack

Pit was dug @ 3300 ft. Pit depth was 145cm. Snow depth was well beyond the 300cm probe length, no hard layers were noted while probing. Results are as follows: CT13SP @ 120cm, CT22SC@ 95cm, ECTN26@95cm, and PST 90/100 @ 95 cm. Two weaker layers were noted @ 120cm and 95cm, both seemed to be composed of decomposing particles. Snowpack at this elevation was dry.
